The best TV depends less on the brand than on the room it lives in. Start with how bright the room is, what you watch and how much space you have, then jump to the pick that matches. Every TV below comes from our two full lists, where you will find the reasoning, the specifications and the catch for each one.
Quick answer: a dim room and a love of movies, the LG C6. A tight budget, the Hisense U6SF Pro. A sunny room, the Samsung S90H. A bedroom or small space, the 48-inch LG C6.

Our pick · Best all-round TV
LG C6 OLED (2026)
Pitch-black darkness, vivid color, and a gaming feature list that goes on and on.
Reasons to buy
- Pitch-black contrast and rich color
- Four full-speed HDMI 2.1 ports
- Up to 165Hz with VRR for gaming
- RTINGS: best upper mid-range 4K TV
Reasons to avoid
- It is happiest in a dim or moderately lit room. If sunlight pours onto the screen all day, the Samsung S90H below handles reflections better.
Why we picked it
Every pixel on an OLED lights itself, so black is actually black. Dim the lights for a movie and the picture has a depth that LCD sets struggle to match. Independent lab testing from RTINGS rates it the best upper mid-range 4K TV, and the best 42-inch TV.
It is just as good for gaming. All four HDMI inputs carry full HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, the panel runs up to 165Hz with VRR, and motion stays crisp, so it suits PS5, Xbox and PC setups.
Key specs
- Linked size: 65-inch (also sold in 42, 48 and 55-inch)
- OLED evo panel, 4K resolution
- Up to 165Hz, VRR, G-Sync and FreeSync Premium
- Four HDMI 2.1 inputs
- Dolby Vision, HDR10 and Dolby Atmos
- webOS smart platform
